(Photo by Chudate Seehawong)Areas of seven provinces are still affected by the flooding that has hit much of the country since last month, affecting at least 1.8 million people, according to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department. The torrential rain brought by tropical storms Talas and Sonca triggered flash floods in 44 provinces between July 5 and Aug 15. The floods had receded in six provinces, but parts of Satun and Phichit were still affected, he said. The dam on Wednesday continued to discharge water at a rate of 1,500 cu/m per second.
